From Dynamics AX to ERPNext, over three years

Replacing an outdated Dynamics AX installation with ERPNext – over three years, because an ERP change does not hinge on the system but on the processes behind it. We mapped, questioned and rebuilt 78 workflows in the platform; much of it had grown over the years around the limits of the old system. In parallel we extended the server landscape with Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server, moved three servers across and built the foundation for ERP operations – separate environments for test and production, verified backups, predictable recovery. Today more than 50 people work with the system, with no per-user licence costs and with further development the company controls itself. Handover did not end the engagement: we established a permanent support channel, which we run together with ERPNext partners – day-to-day questions go there, and difficult cases reach someone who knows the platform from the inside.
